Creation of the electrochemical gas sensor for determining hydrogen sulfide in the air and technological environments

Created an electrochemical gas sensor NTUU "KPI" for determining hydrogen sulfide, which endowed of high resolution and selectivity and can be use for manufacturing automation, quality control, safety, security and anticorrosive protection of the environment. Made a set of theoretical and experimental studies to determine the kinetic parameters of the redox reactions and mass transfer in electrochemical systems is based on solid and electrolyte matrix to enhance the selectivity and resolution and cost savings generated by sensors.

Biotechnological production of energy and energy carriers from wastes of different origin

It is developed the anaerobic-aerobic technology of treatment of highly concentrated wastewater associated with biotechnological production of electricity and hydrogen. The technology is different from the existing ones with the implemented system of bioreactors. It is developed the hydrobiocenosis of microorganisms that are organized in bioconveyor and immobilized on synthetic carrier with highly developed surface area in bioreactors.

Development of technologies for the production of wall materials based on organic binders hardening contact with silica as a component of waste power plants.

 Developed a highly efficient production technology of silicate wall materials, which harden and create a waterproof and stone-likecomposition at the time of formation (compaction) and characterized by physico-mechanical characteristics higher than existing similar silicate products.

The development of high selective sorptive ceramic materials for water basin protection from heavy metal natural radionuclide contamination

Actual high-selective porous ceramics and glass-crystalline materials with specified characteristics, structure and high operating abilities (advanced porous structure, high sorptive properties and selectivity, increased thermo- and acid- resistance, mechanical durability and others) for aquifer protection from heavy metals and natural radionuclides contamination were developed. Basic synthesis principles of these materials based on layered silicates dispersions, also regulation principles of their characteristics related to synthesis conditions and surface modification were specified.

Creating a comprehensive conditioning technology saline water for municipal and industrial water use.

This work is aimed at the creation of scientific bases of desalination and purification of highly mineralized water without the formation of liquid waste to developing an integrated water conditioning technology, which provides softening and desalination of water, its decontamination and stabilization with respect to scaling to meet the needs of utility and industrial companies.

Developing effective methods of maintaining soil fertility in accordance with the paradigm of sustainable development.

Conducted theoretical experimental researches of forming process a lot of puffs crystalline amorphous nano- the structures formed by mass crystallization in the presence mykro- and makro- admixtures on the surface of dispersion phase in the dynamic dispersions systems.

Terms are certain formings and mechanism of formation of organic mineral hard compositions matters with a layer structure from the homogeneous and geterogeneous liquid systems.

Investigation of the processes and development of high efficiency resource-saving ecological-safety technology of deep arsenic removal from water

The information about both, natural and anthropogenic ways and the reasons of arsenic compounds appearance in natural waters are generalised. Prevailing forms of the presence of arsenic compounds in water medium are defined. The comparative analysis and summarization of the existing information on the novel methods and materials for deep extraction of arsenic from water are carried out.

Implementation of sustainable development principles into regional assessment, technologies and productions.

Environmental sustainability assessment and environmental performance assessment of Ukrainian regions are carried out. The evaluation of environmental component of regional sustainable development on the basis of comparative analysis of the regions of Ukraine by complex indicator is carried out. The Black Sea and the Sea of Azov environmental vulnerability index is proposed and environmental vulnerability assessment of coastal Ukrainian regions is carried out.

Development new resource saving technology of recovery toxic components of water treatment waste.

The basic regularities of the process of disposal of toxic metals precipitation coalescing water purification of wastewater contaminated with dyes, surface-active substances and other organic compounds, by the acid and oxidation processing of these deposits with neutralization of toxic substances and the partial or complete (in recycle) return of the coagulation reagents in the process of water purification.
